ballistic tips or not?
« on: January 11, 2003, 06:08:01 AM »
I plan on using 223 for yotes, it shoul dbe plenty adequate for my area it seems. I have used ballistic tipped bulltes on P dogs...Shold they be used on yotes or not? The fella I went with P doggin supplied the ammo so I have no idea! My shots for yotes will be no more than 200 yards here. Dont really care what hide damage results. I am more concerned with clean efficient kills.

I use 55 grain b/t's in my 22-250 on yotes and it anchors them. I have had a few pass thrus leave a large exit hole though. 8)

The poly tipped bullets will anchor coyotes just fine out of a 223 at 200 yards with a solid hit.   Not to worry - go calling.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
