Contender Carbine factory barrels?
« on: January 15, 2004, 11:25:29 AM »
Hello,
I just traded into a new barrel, and it confuses me a little. It was a factory marked 22 inch full bull carbine barrel in stainless. I've never seen this before; no, it is not marked TC custom shop, just factory markings. I know about 21 inch tapered barrels and the newer 23 inch full bulls, but never saw or heard of a full bull 22 inch. Has anyone ever heard of one of these?

thanks and regards,
graycg

Thats a new one on me. I think the factory some times does limited runs of special barrels for large customers, such as midway. But I have never heard of that one.  KN

I think KN hit it right on the head.
I have a 21" Stainless 7x30 Waters in a bull barrel that does NOT have the Custom Shop markings on it either. I bought it new from EABCO a few years back. I also bought a 22" 30-30 stainless bull on the same order and it doesn't have any C.S. markings on it either.

Special run barrels for EABCO were how they were advertised.  I also remember that the orders were taken and then sent to T/C to be filled. The barrels were delivered in box's from E.A. Brown ?????

Thanks gents,
This barrel was a 30-30 and has since been rechambered.  I like it much more than the tapered barrels, but never saw them advertised.

Thanks again for your help...gotta go load up some 308 B*****M's!
