I've no direct contact with this bullet, but there's some feedback from hunters on Hornady's site:

I don't think you will be disappointed.  I have used the standard load with 117gr sst to take several deer and the sst's have always performed exactly as expected.

Ok well I will only shoot broad side and facing me unless its a huge buck, but hopefully I can get a buck next Monday, that's the pa opener...

The only bullet I have ever used in my 25-06 barrel on my encore is a 85gr. BT. A friend told  me they were great. I have killed lots of deer with them. So, I think 117gr. will be no problem at all. The deer I have shot with my lil bullets are big iowa does and a big 10 point in missouri!!

ok I am still contemplating on what to use, my 243 which I killed 6 deer with and none went more then 40 yards or my 25 06. I just don't want to loose a buck to bullet performance.....

I shot a buck 2 years ago with a 117g sst from my .25-06, and it did a nose dive on the spot. The range was 150-175 yards and the bullet hit the shoulder took out a rib going in, through the lungs, through another rib on it's way out, broke the off shoulder and was under the hide. Bullet weight was about 65g. The entire front end was a bloody mess, but there was no tracking needed.
