Here in Ohio, not legal to grow pot. You can however, grow your own tobacco, and distill your own houch. Not sure how much tobacco, but way more than an average person can smoke in a year. As far as alcohol, 200 gals a year. Thats the hard stuff, gin, whiskey, vodka, etc. There are several wine and beer stores here in the Tolerdo area, that sells supplies to make your own wine/beer. Not sure if they put a limit on those 2. I believe as long as your not doing it for profit, they don't care. gypsyman

I may not have worded it right.  I was talking about IF they made marijuana LEGAL like they did with alcohol.  You can make your own beer, wine, or wiskey for your own consumption, but you cannot sell it unless you go through the government for taxation and health inspections.  If they made marijuana legal, IF you sell it, it would have to be taxed like cigarettes and alcohol.  They probably would have to let you grow it for your own consumption like alcohol.

Not necessarily powderman. I personally participated in that "war on drugs" for 20 years. Five of those years were "full time just on drugs", and I can tell you that the "war on drugs" does not exist. The "war on personal property" actually exists, but the drugs are only a pathway to the property.
The only reason it is not legal today, is that the government cannot figure out how to tax something you can grow at home without special tools.
ALCOHOL IS A DRUG, but beer sure goes good with Mexican food, and gosh! A whiskey and coke, is good on the porch in the evening.
Gonzalez may be Mexican by descent but, that doesn't make him a supporter of the criminal element in drug trafficking. I am of American Indian decent, and I fully support the United States Military. Besides. If marijuana was legalized, it WOULD cut the trafficking down about 60%, as it would take the money out of it. Gonzalez is RIGHT. But stupid for speaking truth. That's why most officers don't say it. They want to keep their job. As far as "retired officers" coming out against marijuana laws. Perhaps they have seen both sides, that FEW OTHERS HAVE SEEN, AND ACTUALLY KNOW LITTLE ABOUT, BUT "THINK" THEY DO. YA RECKON?
I have seen far more drunks ruin their own lives, and those of others, than a pot smoker ever has.

While that may be fully true, we also should keep in mind that most completely wasted drug addicts, started with that noxious weed.
It is indeed a comic exercise, to see someone seeking vindication for their own shortcomings, by pointing out the destructive habits of others.  Two wrongs do not make a right !

As you said earlier, there are all kinds of addicted fiends, the primary difference being whatever is their 'drug of choice' !

Or perhaps because the guy may get skunked up some day and spill some beans about the "Fast & Furious" program..

You know about that program...the "justice" department and ATF assuring the cartels of a supply of lethal weapons...
