Win 30-30
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:41:55 AM »
Hi folks,

New to this site. I just acquired a 30-30 from a good friend. This is my first lever action rifle and I could use some help. The rifle was made in 1926. The barrel is not the original. I was told the original was replaced when they outlawed the caliber (25-30?) for hunting and the owner put in a 30-30 barrel. The barrel was made in New Haven and has model 94-30 WIN on it. What is the general value of this rifle? I know that more info is needed but just wondering if a rifle that old starts at a higher value level. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

with the original barrel it would have, but this model is the less desireable top eject, and the all too common 30-30 chambering.  Sorry, but unless there is some pedigree that attaches this gun to someone famous it is just another gun

Just another model 94 30-30 but is a pre 64 so is higher in value than the latter models.
