They say why, it's on TV?

You know, DD, since your are/will be making a rational bowling ball mortar, you should video the process and post it on youtube or vimeo to contrast with the production just broadcast.  But it might be a good idea not to mention the long range quest.   ;D

I am afraid the building of the K.I.S..S.  bowling ball mortar is going to be out side the scope of my equipment and will have to be contracted out.  I will however try to do what I can to keep everything documented and posted here.  I am hoping maybe to get started on this in the spring.  This is a big project.

I haven't seen the episode or any pics of this thing yet, but from what you guys are sayingI'm suprised the lawyers slowed it on the air even with the disclaimer.

I saw the show this afternoon--I DVR'd it.  I gotta tell you guys I am not as disturbed by this build as some you guys are.  We have seen worse first time builds posted here.

Yeah it's funky looking but again we have had worse posted here.

As far as I can see they only got three things wrong.

1. No powder

2. Bad loading technique

3.  No paint.

Man they even got the right tank!!

I will add, that the vent hole was in the breach,  not a real big destructive problem but will burn any one 20 feet behind the gun.  the only safe way to shoot the gun is to be beside it,   but there are lots of design qualtiy issues i have with the gun,  but if you believed everything you see on tv like that price they sold it for, i would be playing poker with an alien.  and i mean the little green type.

Man, you guys are tough, wonder what you say about the K.I.S.S. Bowling ball mortar

I remember loading the 180lb breech plug into your truck. :o   I think your mortar will be far more than substantial.
That thing was no where  near that heavy, only weighed 146 lbs!    ;D

Dom, I just check the weight again after moving it   176 pounds.
