Iowa state prof says don't send gifts to soldiers
« on: December 09, 2011, 12:48:56 AM »
Iowa State u. also has some pinheads.  THomas Walker tells students not to send gifts to Soldiers & Marines fighting in Afghanistan.  See his quoted words in biege colored highlight;  http://burnpit.us/comment/10573

This bonehead says they are paid enough to BUY THEIR OWN GIFTS.  This just shows how dense some folks can be, no matter how much education they have!  According to his own deduction, if you have a brother, sister, Dad, Mom, wife or fiance who has a decent income..there is no sense in buying them a gift...they can just buy their own..BRILLIANT !!
For all his education he apparently has no clue as to the motivation for gift giving.  Then of course, there isn't a Walmart on every corner in Afghanistan.
He says the troops are well paid...I rather wonder if for the same wages the troops are paid, he would joyfully pick up an M4 or a M249 SAW and be point man for a patrol in the Korengal valley ?
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

The young people in our military give him a gift. They make a big sacrifice so that he has the freedom to be a stupid pinhead.

This bonehead says they are paid enough to BUY THEIR OWN GIFTS

I just got back from my third tour and even as "highly paid E-6", my family has _LOST_ money every time I have been recalled and deployed.

Please don't judge all professors on what Thomas Walker said.  I and my cohorts  in higher education are of the opinion is that Walker wouldn't measure up to the head of a camel's reproductive organ.

I want Mr. Walker to tell me what monetary value he places on the lives of our troops. He probably never got what he wanted for Christmas so he thinks no one else should get a gift.  Mr. Walker doesn't think about what our troops want for Christmas and that is to be home with their families, comfortable and safe.

I didn't make that mistake Dixiejack... I realize faculty staffs are like the membership here.  Most primarily sensible folks with a pure nerd here & there..

seussell and ironglow, thanks for the positive feedback and I am not trying to hijack this thread.  I did want to get in my 2 cents worth about that A$$ 0 Walker.  He probably doesn't  even display the American flag.
