Stevens 200 .308Win

Which is the better aftermarket trigger for the 200? Timney or Rifle Basix? Need one of the two for my Stevens.

I can provide a partial answer.  I had a Stevens 200 and installed a Timney trigger.  It was pretty easy and gave me a very nice trigger that was adjustable to what I wanted, I think about 2 to 2.5 lbs.  No regrets.
Sorry about the no experience with the Rifle Basix trigger.  I've heard they're pretty good for what that's worth.....

Ditto what Deerandduck said. I recently installed a Timney trigger on my son-in-law's Savage Model 111. Was a quick and uncomplicated process. He seems pleased with the results. Not saying anything against Rifle Basix, I just have no experience with their products. Both companies have their adherents.

I have Timney on 4 rifles. They are so good, i can't imagine anything being better.  I have never tried Rifle Basix.

I'm surprised there are no replies in favor of the Rifle Basix. I know I'm tired of the gritty 4-4.5# pull of the stock trigger though. Looking for a safe 1.5-2.5# SMOOTH trigger.

Sharp Shooter. Fred's triggers are some nice quality units.

Sorry, no experience with these aftermarket triggers in a Stevens 200.  Have used Bold, Timny and Basix triggers in other rifles....satisfied with each of them.  Started to buy a replacement trigger for my Stevens 200, but decided to just weaken (thinned it in area that rests in notch) the straight spring on trigger and do some polishing on trigger sear contact points.  This helped my trigger pull enough to not need a replacement trigger.

I have a Rifle Basix in my Stevens 200 in .243 Win.  It is quite nice, and my son has it adjusted now to around 3 lbs with zero creep.  Very nice, but probably not quite as nice as the Timney in my Remington 700 SPS Varmint, or the Timney in my Weatherby Vanguard Varmint special.  But then, they were more expensive than the Rifle Basix.  Either would be a great addition to the Stevens 200.  You also might want to to consider a Hogue recoil pad for your Stevens as well.  Adds a little pull (my sons and I are all over 6' tall) and while the .243 isn't a hard kicker, it makes it real pleasant off the bench.  It fit the factory stock perfectly.
