Spike TV and Outdoor Shows
« on: January 17, 2004, 03:50:13 PM »
It seems that Spike TV will no long be showing outdoor huting and fishing shows.  I just got off their site and there are now none listed on the programing guide.

It is time to let them know how you feel about there decision.

Direct TV

Since I purchase my programing from Direct TV I wrote them too.

Dear Sirs:

One of the reasons that I selected Direct TV was for the out-of-doors programing.  I am upset that Spike TV has selected to eliminate hunting/fishing/shooting sports from their programing.

I do not know why they elected to do so but I feel it was a bad decision.  Outdoorsmen and women spend millions of dollars on sporting goods products each year.  It looks like Spike TV has elected to hurt their advertisers by their decision.

Sincerely, Dave Armstong

When they first started the "First Network for Men" line, I remember this was followed by an ad for some feminine hygene product.

Spike sent me this answer.  It sounds like moose dung to me!

Dear David,

Thanks for your feedback. We take customer feedback very seriously. Our
goal is to provide a wide variety of programming, on a wide variety of
channels. However, we only carry the programming provided to us by the
networks, and we can't predict or control what a particular channel
chooses to air. While we continually work with our programming partners
to improve your television entertainment experience, it helps us all for
you to also forward your feedback to the network itself.  You can reach

Daveinthebush,
Looks like a 'canned' automatic response to me. I wonder if anyone really read your comment....

Forget Spike TV get the Outdoor Channel from Direct TV.

I called them and they me told I had to take it as part of the sports packet.  I told them no I didn't want the sports package, I wanted the Outdoor Channel, ala carte.  Oh, okay.  I think it costs me $2.99 a month

Same here, been watching George, Tom and Perry for years.  George got me into prospecting with the shows.

Got the gold fever now for about 7 years. :-)
