New barrel
« on: December 16, 2011, 09:00:54 AM »
Sent my receiver off today to have new 30-30 barrel fitted, if they have one. It seems when you call CS they don't even know, I called last week and talked to a girl and she told me they were out of 30-30 barrels and would not have any till next year then I called yesterday and was told by someone Else that they had some in stock, if they don't have any I'll go to 308 or 44mag.

PM Brian 56.  He knows what they ACTUALLY have.  I don't know what the problem is, but Madison never seems to know what's going on at Illion.  They don't even seem to know what's going on at the desk next to them ::)    To me, it seems the dumbest thing in the world to have Customer Service hundreds of miles from the action.  I spent a lot of time at inside sales for a couple of large companies.  I was always able to say "I'll call you right back.  I'll go down to the shop and find out what we can do".

I agree having CS away from where they need to be is just plain dumb! I've been putting this off for several years because of the bad time I had with them on fitting a couple of barrels. They lost my receiver, sent me barrels I did not order, ruined my stock, sent me a compleat gun that was not mine, it belonged to someone in Ill. that one took about 3 weeks for them to finely send me a return shipping box after they wanted me to pay for return shipping. They finely mane everything right took about 4 mo. but they sent me a new stock and when I finely got the barrels I had ordered there was a extra 45-70 barrel inside, after I called them and told them I did not ordered it they told me to just keep it witch I was happy to do. :D
I'll send Brian a PM thaks.

I wish they'd send me an "extra" barrel too. I'd be OK with that. ;D

I did not mind keeping the barrel, but out of all the trouble I had with them the hardest was getting them to take back the hole gun they sent me in the mail a [45/410] it eaven had a toe tag on it that had the guys name in ILL.That one took about 3 weeks to get them to take back.
