CVA Needs Work
« on: December 22, 2011, 10:16:54 PM »
I inherited this little gun from a family friend several years ago. It was stored in a garage for a long time and is somewhat rusty and missing a few small parts. It's an old CVA Napoleon and takes a .69 round ball. I shoot it once in a while, but never had the time to restore it. Does anyone know of a source for replacement parts? I think it would be worth putting a few bucks into it to have all the pieces, even if I got lazy and painted the whole thing in historically correct colors. :)

Welcome aboard, ironball. I've got the same model cannon from the time that CVA had them, but they haven't sold them for years. The company that now sells an almost identical gun is "Traditions", and that would probably be your best bet to try and get parts.
BTW, that's the gun I use in the 'GBO Miniature Cannon Club Postal Shoot', and it's surprisingly accurate.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Thanks. I'll have to look them up and see what I can get. I have too many projects not getting done already, what's one more. ;D
