Hi everyone
Just got the barrel today and he included a trunion caps now on the carriage what would be the best one to make for a beginer i think the naval one looks easy. Also he mentioned that after i get the carriage done to send him the angle WHY. he said he has the acme thread for the elevation screw set ? well below are the picture of the cannon and trunions.
Thanks Jack  ;D

JacksCannons,
He is looking for the angle because he thinks you are mounting it on a field carriage.  The elevation screw on a field carriage is vertical but the mount that it screws into will be mounted on the sloped trail.  If he has the angle, he can thread the mount so it screws on the sloped trail but keeps the threads vertical.
You won't have that issue with a ship carriage.
That is a nice barrel!  How big is it?

Hello
I had mention the guy in my earlier post the website is scale artillery . Now since you mentioned it that does make sense about the elevation angle i don't know why it didn't occur to me  ??? .

I had checked out the elevation screw he mention on his website and i might buy the Napoleon barrel to after i get this one made. The price seems reasonable for the brass barrel.

I'd like to find some plans on the naval or field carriage so if any of who could help please let me know. He has some nice 12 spoke wheels available but no price do you think steel is good for the spokes or not?.

Also the bore on this one is 50 caliber he had said its over size for the windage is that right. Also he had told me about this forum and said he used to be a sponsor but i only seen the seacoast artillery i really like the parrot rifle.

Also how much powder do you think i should use for this to start i'm kind of in a hurry to fire this perhaps i could make a make shift base  ;D

If you have any ideas on the naval please let me know thanks Jack

Its almost 6 3/4 long by almost 1 1/4 dia and is 50 caliber but he said it has the windage bored into it that's why its over the 1/2. i have to look in the email i think he made it oversize 12 mm or thousand something like that i have a bunch of 50 cal round balls and they just roll out when you put them in why?  >:( is that right

Thanks for any advice Jack

Thanks Jack
