Which rifle sight?
« on: January 04, 2004, 03:22:28 PM »
I have a Marlin lever 45-70 and a 1.5-5 Luepold scope. Heavy crosshairs. Good choice ? I read where a red dot in a sight such as an aimpoint would be better! Thoughts?

yankees1,

:D  First let me Welcome you to Graybeard Outdoors.  The best place on the net for hunters/shooters going today.   :D

Now to your question.  Your setup looks good to me.  I have a few of those red dot sights in my workbench.  They work great until the battery goes dead then no dot to aim by.  They have a bad habit of going dead when you least expect them to.  Personally I wouldn't change a thing with what you have now. I have a Trijicon Reflex sight on my S&W 629. It doesn't use batteries and is always on. It uses tritium to make the dot glow.
