The 1:20 ?

T/C will send you a new barrel for it if you like.

Had one, couldn't get it to perform with ANYTHING.  Terrible barrel with problems beyond the twist!  Replacement 1:28 barrel is much better.

Run a tight, lubed patch down that bore, go slow, and tell us what you feel.  Nice and smooth with even pressure all the length of the rifling - or something else?

Some guys got the 1:20 barrels and had good luck with them, so I think a lot more was involved than simply twist-rate.
WHUT?

Yea I had one of those with the 1:20 twist and it wasn't worth a crap. I sent it back several times to T/C when I couldn't get it to shoot. They finally sent me a new one back that is suppose to have a 1:28 twist in it but I am beginning to wonder about it to because I can't get it to shoot a decent group either. Any suggestions? They sent a note back with it and said that it was shooting 1/2 to 1 inch groups with the 180gr. barns bullet with two pyrodex pellets but I tried that and I can't get it from it. Sometimes I worry about the guys at T/C they did me the same way about a 300 win. mag. barrel. I sure could use some help with this barrel if any of you smokepole masterminds have any suggestions.

Try going heavier on the bullet (maybe the heaviest Dead Centers or White PowerStars or Buffalo Bullets sabots) and lower the powder charge a little.  I have a similar replacement barrel that LIKES heavy bullets.

I am getting anywhere between 3 to 5 inch groups at 50 yards with it. I'm scared as he&& to try at a 100 if thats what its doing at 50.

I'd try the 275 grain Powerbelts-- that's what I had the best luck with.

I had better luck going to light weight bullets and higher powerder charges but the twist in my 45 is 1/28
