Better get you another firing pin on order, you keep dropping that breechblock without putting the hammer to halfcock you're going to bend or break the point off .
In the 1920's "sheeple" was a term coined by the National Socialist Party in Germany to describe people that would not vote for Hitler. In the 1930's they held Hitler as the only one that would bring pride back to Germany and bring the budget and economy back.....

First time I've ever shot it.  Thanks for the tip.

No problem. A bent/broken firing pin can make you tear your hair out trying to figure out hows come accuracy went byebye....

I notice it doesn't dent the primer very deeply.

I had a clothes pin on the bottom but it was still blowing around quite a bit.  I managed a 3" group and with my eyes that ain't bad.

I bought it about 3 weeks ago.  I'm use to shooting my Ruger #3 and my Handi Rifles so I didn't know about cocking the hammer before opening.  I bought the rifle second hand so there was no manual.  I'd like to get a Shiloh Sharps Business Rifle one day.

The Shiloh`s are nice rifles and pricey!
I have been leaning towards the C.Sharps highwall in 45-70!
That said I still would not turn down a good price on a used Sharps carbine in good shape!!

I only paid $650.00 for this one and I got most of that selling things that I didn't have anything invested in.

I wonder what it would take to put a tang sight on mine?

your rifle should be tapped for one, my pedersolie 74 sharps was. all i had to do was mount it, i have the long range staff on mine. you may want a shorter staff for hunting. my little sharps came with a hunting short staffed tang sight. eastbank.
