Howdy Everyone,
Have not made it to a cowboy shoot yet.
I have just got a SxS 12 Ga made by Norinco. It has the double hammers and is a short little gun.
Will this thing stand up to cowboy shooting.Or will it last about as long as the cheap price I paid for it. $100.

Howdy Wilbe and welcome to the cowboy fire,

Your gun has good strong steel and these guns can and do last a good long while.  But.. the machining can be rough and the assembly can be a bit sloppy.  You might want to take a look at it or have someone take a look at it, stoning and filing the rough spots.

Sounds like you made a good buy.

Alot of CAS shooters use the Norinco and seem to like 'em.  I personally prefer the IGA/Stoeger......but then again, that's why there's chocolate and vanilla........

For a $100 I would have bought it just to look at it
Seems that we cowboys never have all the guns/gear we need/want.

With only $100 invested, if something else comes along you like better or just want to try a different scattergun, you can keep the SxS as a back-up or sell it to another pard.

Let us know how it works...

Got time to shoot the gun today. What a shooter.
Anyone ever load much buckshot in 12 ga.?Was thinking of useing blackpowder for more of old time shooter.
But I never have loaded shot shells before.
Been reloading rifle and pistol shells for about 30 years now.
Anyone have any tips on where to start on loading shot shells.

Lee Load All   for $30 it will do everything you need.
Spend the extra dollar or so per box of shells to get winchester AA or someone elses slick sided hulls, the promotional huls with the ribbed plastic probably won't "shuck" as well as the AA's and this will become important to you
