Have heard through the grapevine this is on the way.

I don't see it on the Ruger website, do you suppose Ruger's waiting to unveil it at the SHOT Show?

I have seen adds for replacement barrels to convert the 10-22 Magnum to a 17 rf.

It is on it's way and more than likely be officially debuted at SHOT.  There were actually ads in magazines showing one but it was premature.   It may take some time afterwards o get them out in numbers so that they're readily available though.  I'd expect to see them start showing up on dealers racks around April.  If you go to Davidson's and do a search (under model drop down menu you'll see 10/17) you can see the specs for it.  Also, at least for a while the price will be high simply becasue of the emmediate demand for them.  after that wears off, they'll be more  widely available and better priced.
