Where can you find a thumbhole stock for a G2 Contender
« on: January 04, 2012, 12:13:26 PM »
Where can you find a Right hand thumbhole stock for a G2 contender? I attached a link to the style I am looking for. I would prefer one already finished. I am not a big fan of the stinger type of stock. I called gunstocks and was told they do not offer this style anymore. Thanks for your help.

there are several folks that make custom wood for the Contenders..High Plains is one of them.  Do a Google search.  As of late there are have been several custom stocks listed on the Contender classifieds here at GB

My choice would be Justin Sip Custom Guns in Two-Queer-Ville, Utah... or rather Toquerville.    ;)   (You have to have lived in SW UT to recognize the local nickname for it probably, but it really has no basis and is a great small community.)   Justin made the best TC handgun furniture I ever owned for me when he worked for Bullberry.  I'd bet he would sell them unfinished if wanted, in any grade of wood you want, and to your size specs.
FWIW

I sent a email to the link and will wait for more info. I know I can find a stinger type of thumbhole but I don't care much for the humpback look of it. I Like the looks of the factory thumbhole made for the original contender. Maybe cheaper and easier to buy a original contender frame and factory T/C thumbhole for it. Thanks for your help.

Sorry to hear that, he made really nice TC furniture.

You might try Bullberry.   His utility grade is better than most select grade wood you get from other shops, and they are cheap, plus he has grades all the way to exhibition finsihed or not.   Thumbholes didn't use to be a regular design he did, but maybe he'd do them.  Might be worth an email or a phone call anyway.
