Policy changes
« on: January 09, 2012, 09:23:38 PM »
Our first policy change regards both the Classified Ads subforum and the discussion forum.

Regarding ads, we are now allowing best offer to be included in an ad if the ad already has a price stated, e.g., $100 or best offer.

We are also allowing links to live auctions if the GBO classified ad has a maximum price stated.  Seller must sell if that maximum price is met by a responder to the GBO ad as stated in the Classified rules.

We are also allowing links to live auctions for discussion purposes.  However, we will watch this and if it appears that a poster is using this as a method of avoiding paying GBO for the advertising of his wares, we will remove the link.

The Classified Rules have been changed to reflect these changes.

Sounds good....and fair.

We're going to keep an eye on the live auction aspect and if we find it causes problems, we will make a change.

It's going to be difficult depending on terms and conditions of the auctions, some say once a bid is placed you can't pull it. There would have to be a buy now option and if a bid is made the sale would have to go through the auction site.

The seller will have to decide whether he wants the wider reach of eBay or the less hassle of GBO classifieds.  He will have to play by our rules if he posts here, their rules if he posts there.  If they are incompatible, then maybe post here first, and if no sale is made, cancel the GBO ad and post there.

No one has to post in the GBO classifieds.
