Savage 10ML-II Accutrigger Availability - - - is NOW
« on: January 09, 2004, 08:42:13 AM »
There has been "rumors" that somehow the Savage 10ML-II Accutrigger models are not available-- these are completely wrong.

Per the V-P of Savage Arms, the 10ML-II Accutrigger models are the only models catalogued or made by Savage Arms.

They are readily available, and have been since November 2003. Your local pro-shop can order one today through Accu-Sport, Jerry's, Zander's, etc., -- any major Savage distributor. All it takes is a phone call for them.

Thanks Randy........guess its time to do it. Will get one ordered from Jerrys and coming as soon as I can get off work long enough to get up to the gunshop. Will post up when I get it and let all know of my first impressions.

This is tough.......the new Leupold VX lll's are about to hit also and my Shilen barrel is due to arrive any time for the wildcat rifle project.

Perhaps when you discover that the VX-III's still have neither the constant eye relief, etched reticles, true power range, or overall image quality of the Zeiss Conquests that you already own-- life will be a bit simpler?

He He...... thanks for reminding me Randy, thats true I'm just a sucker for new "improved" hunting glass and have to see if they got the brightness levels up to the Conquest levels yet. However the constant eye relief and black etched reticle will remain Conquests domain at this point. Will probably end up selling the Leupold after comparing as I've done several times in the past but you never take a beating selling a Leupold so its no biggy.

The Savage on the other hand will be a fun gun to play with and develop a load for as well as another of those super accu triggers. Do happen to have a Conquest sitting here to go on it as soon as it arrives.

I called two local shops today and one was saying how it will be months before they get one in unless I special order. The other said it will be about amonth or so until they start getting the accu-triggers in. I am going to print out the distributors listed and take it in to see what they can do.
Thanks for the info as I am not the most patient man.

You are far from alone. Apparently, a few places are slowing things down to sell their remaining non-Accu-Triggered 2003 inventory. They can certainly do as they wish, but as far as I'm concerned-- if they can't be bothered to make a phone call for a sale, they are not particularly deserving of that sale.

A buddy and I were both interested in the savage and he got to the local store before me and found out some interesting news. They had six guns there but none with the accu-trigger. They told him that would put him on the list when they sent their order in and they would reserve one for him but it would be late summer! Does anyone know where any are in stock and also around 350 bucks?? If you do please let me know, blued black is just fine with me.
Thanks in advance

The late summer story, told again and again, is what prompted the post. They are in stock, and have been at major wholesalers mentioned above. All any local dealer has to do is pick up the phone, and order one in for you from Jerry's, Zander's, etc., that you can have in a few days. If they can't make a phone call for you, they don't want your business very bad. Savage does not sell direct to local dealers or customers. Like Ruger and others, they sell in bulk to distributors. Savage also does not run production of each model on a weekly or monthly basis. They do their mass production run of a specific rifle, and that's it for some time.

Last I heard, the 2004 Savage 10ML-II "production" is all over with, and sold out to boot. The dealers that want to wait till  "late summer" to bother with an order may well be looking at 2005.
