Teachers on criminal rampages

In just Sussex County alone there have been nine teachers charged with crimes against students in the past three years.  Being teachers, they will probably walk... Teachers are out of control!

Yup, pretty sad what the world has come to.

Reading the report it appears that majority of the arrest are for sex related crimes, most I'm assuming between a male teacher and a female student.   

My feelings are that a lot of it stems from the trash they put out on TV and the movies these days.  You can't turn on the "boob tube" without having a hearty dose sex thrown at you from both the programs and the commercials.  The portray the act of sex not as something meant to be a special act of love between a man and his wife but as just a fun and exciting thing to do at the drop of a hat like riding a roller coaster at the fair.   Grab whoever is handy and jump on. 

Then you have the parents who allow their adolescent daughters go to school dressed and made up like $20 hookers.

That is true enough however I have seen a number of cases where the student left home properly dressed but either sneaked out more "unappropriate" clothing or had it stashed at a friends house and changed before coming to school.

Well, according to some at this site, it's unconstitutional to do anything about the trash our kids watch.  it's a shame, but it will only get worse.
I have mentored boys at school, but made sure that we were in someones sight at all times.

Not to be condoning the teachers out of control behavior, but... You didn't hear of this when they could vent that pressure with a few well directed swats ocassionally.

There has been a rather large number of teachers charged with sex crimes here, both male and female.  I must say Texas does a fairly good job of taking care of the problem, Most go to jail.
 
One thing I have noticed, most of those charged are young teachers, most not much older than the person they are accused of assulting.

What's your view on shared responsibility? Can't charge the victim or her parents with rape, sure. But do they not have a responsibility for her security? If I am negligent and a crime occurs, I can be charged with criminal negligence.


It's absolutely foolish to think the multi-billion $ adult entertainment industry in America has nothing to do with these crimes.

As an educator I've learned to teach from the neck up because of these. While I probably don't see as much of this in my students I still can't see this as a defense. The whole thing disgust me. I will say the fields in a school are ripe for a child molestor/pervert. Most people who have never actually taught have no idea how things have changed. Not an excuse, but maybe more of a warning for anyone considering a career in this field.

This post is definitely going in the right direction.  I was in schools all the time during my working days, and the standing joke on our service team was that ___ High School was the best little whore house in the ___ system.  As far as I know, none of us were so stupid as to actually try anything.  It must be hard on young male teachers, especially the shy guy/nice guy type.  I had an urge to take some of these little hotties aside and tell them how dangerous their behavior was - not a trip to the office or even getting pregnant, but strangled and left in a ditch by the animal who just raped them.  Of course I never did - that would have exposed me to risk.  So you just keep putting one foot in front of the other and pretending nothing is happening.  We are all in a handbasket and hell is just ahead.
