T/C 54 Hawken / Scam?
« on: August 10, 2012, 02:48:51 AM »
http://www.gunsamerica.com/935712292/Guns/Rifles/Thompson-Center-Muzzleloaders/Hawken-Style/Thompson_Center_54_Cal_Hawkin.htm

I saw this Hawken for sale at a really good price.  The only thing is, if something is too good to be true, it probably is.  The seller doesn't have a sales history and he only recently started selling on Gunsamerica.  I am concerned that it might be a scam.  If it isn't, it's a good deal.

Scam?   But from his description it is very evident he knows absolutely nothing about TC Hawken rifles, and probably nothing about muzzleloaders.

Unfired?  He admits he is no expert, and I doubt he even knows how to "try" to determin that.

29" hex barrel?   They are 28" octagon, so he doesn't know the difference between 6 and 8.

Oak stock?  Walnut, so he knows nothing about wood either.

Trimmed with brass handware on handle?   Well, I guess you could call it a handle, and the furniture hardware.

Wonder what the shiiping will cost?   I can't find the State of Confusion listed in the postal rates.   ???

Nothing wrong with the price depending on where you live in the country.   High to very low depending IOW.

Comes down to if you want to deal with a person that doesn't have the first clue about what he's got or not.   Can't count the TC Hawken 54 part, it's stamped on it.   ;)

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

looked like a kit to me from the looks of the poorly browned barrel.
