superbowl game

Why is football one of the few games that have a one game contest for the championchip? Baseball, hockey,basketball all have multiple games for the decisive winner?

I have always wondered that myself. Not only is the Super Bowl winner take all but all of the playoff games are too. All of the other sports have best of 5 or best of 7 series for the playoffs too.
 
I know a lot of people who say that football is to physical to do a playoff or championship series...my answer to that is always "have you ever watched a hockey game?"

Australian rules football make ours look like sissy games.  so they should be able to get through a five game playoff.
