I hope things will be like Y2K with all the people selling the ammo and camping gear a few days after it is supposed to happen  ;)

There have been doomsday prophesies and prophets for many years and we are still here. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

It's not only the Mayans that had their calendar end on 12/21/2012. I'm not talking about rediculous Yahoo News propaganda, I'm refering to past civilizations, from around the world, recording time with an abrupt end occuring on 12/21/2012. Tell us how you interprete this as a doomsday prophecy? It marks the end of a galactical cycle that hasn't happened for 26,000 years but it was never written about by the Mayans,to be an apocalypse. It simply demonstrates early knowledge of astronomy.

Or after how many centuries did the Mayan's just say " I did this stupid calander to Dec. 21, 2012 so the heck with it, let someone else continue it".   :D

Their own demise? Their descendants make up a large population of Central America today. Their culture collapsed, for whatever reason and their populations migrated but they never disappeared.

I believe the collider theory is right and a black hole was created. It is sucking all the common sence, reason and knowledge right out of civilization. I can feel us gaining speed every time that I watch the news. ear

The one thing that concerns me, and it has been confirmed, is the heavy solar flares expected about then. Heck, they are already showing up. Not the end of the world, but quite possibly the end as we now know it. They are saying there's a very good chance it could knock out all comunications. Look at what happened in Canada just a few years ago. It took them 6 years to get back on track and they are still not 100% there.
