Did I Start Something I can't Quit???
« on: February 09, 2004, 09:25:00 AM »
Well folks I made the plunge and broke down and bought a G2 Contender.  I was in the local toy store and there was a used G2 with a 14" .22 LR barrel and 2.5 T/C scope.  It sat there for $450, and needed a new home and someone that would give it some tender loving care.

did I start something that I may not be able to stop or quit?  do I need to join a support group for help?

Honestly, I can't wait to shoot this little beauty.  It will only be the beginning.  I will next look to get my hunting barrel soon.  I am leaning towards the 7-30 Waters.  It seems to have some very impressive data on performance.

Just thought I would let anyone know my joy on my purchase today.

Thanks for letting me brag!

its hopeless now..........I started that same condition in 1979. Its not easy to cure either. I have had four frames and countless chamberings and still almost always have one on order somewhere. Most of my factory offerings have since been traded away so now I am home to the after market custom jobs.

Lawful Larry, you are in  big trouble!  As a man of very modest means, a retired teacher, I now own four frames, nine barrels and am looking for reloading gear so I can start buying non-factory barrels.  Am selling long guns I have owned for forty years because I no long care about shooting them.  I put their money into T/C's.  Is it addictive? You bet!  Is shooting these things a hoot? Believe it!  Are any of my barrels for sale?  Would you sell a child?  Yeh, you're in trouble all right.  The first time you touch off your hunting barrel and hear the blast, see the flash and feel the recoil you'll be addicted  on the spot just like the rest of us.

Ain't it great to be crazy!

Yep, you're definitely into something you can't quit.  At least it's healthier than an addiction to crack.
