Breach seal

My seal is worn out and needs replacing. Will those common O-rings at the store work on my gun? I have the gamo shadow 1000. Thanks.

FREQUENT problem with Gamo Shadows/1000s.  If you'll look at that seal, it's pretty big.  Give Gamo a call or send them an email and they'll send you a new one.

Thanks big6x6, I'll do just that. Have you ordered new seals from gamo before? If so how long did it take to arrive? I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms from not being able to shoot

Yes.

Airgun_Junkie,

"big6x6" hit that on on the head.  Only thing I would add is get plenty when you order.  The older a Gamo gets the faster the seals wear out.  Lawdog

When I receive my new seals would oiling the seal prolong the life of it? I think it would reduce friction when cocking the rifle, that seems to be whats causing it.

I never did on the account of the possibly of causing dieseling due to oil in the air chamber.  Lawdog

I don't believe I would either.  The seal is more rubbery than plastic and oil could help lessen the lifespan of the seal, which is very short as is.  The seal is poorly designed and made of cheap materials.  I have breech seals that are over 10 years old and still going strong on many other air rifles.
