I appreciate your replies. Over the weekend I tried to load some .377 cast bullets in resized 30-30 brass without success. I figured that I needed to stretch the brass incrementally, so I first ran 30-30 brass first thru an 8 mm die, than a .35 Rem die and lastly fireformed it to .375. The brass mouth was then uneven so I trimmed the brass . I used an RCBS .375 Win die to seat the bullet but it wouldn't crimp. After widening the mouth to .375 the brass now measured shorter. It appears it was too short to crimp properly.
Gypsyman, is the Redding die shorter so it will seat the bullet? Or is there something else that I should be doing?
