Well, when I first bought my encore I had problems with it. And it was a 300 win mag. It wouldn't shoot a group worth a piss! I sent it back to tc a total of three times the third time I had them send me a 7mm Rem. Mag. barrel back instead and they did. I sold it and order a 7 mag barrel from bullberry. I have also got a .45 caliber muzzleloader barrel that I have got trouble with that I have sent back to them. It had the 1:20 twist in it. They sent me a new one back that is suppose to have a 1:28 twist in it, I still haven't been able to find a good load  that will shoot good in it yet.

First of all, welcome to the forum and to your first encore.  It seems like I'm one of the minority here, but I have owned three barrels for my Encore, all of which were factory TC barrels, and all of them shoot as well as I could expect them too.  I don't follow the "required break in procedure", I don't free float my barrels, and I don't do any other voodoo tricks to my Encore that so many other folks on here "have" to do to get their guns to shoot.  Personally, I would say to go with he factory barrels.  Odds are they will shoot just fine, and you won't be waiting forever to get one.   :D

I second longshot! I have several Encore rifle barrels and they all shoot great. It does seem like alot of people have trouble with the muzzle loader barrels but not being into the BP stuff I'm no athority. I will say for sure that a 300wm Encore is going to kick. "HARD". And that makes it pretty difficult to shoot good groups. Personally if t were me I would go with a custom shop barrel. Not becouse I think it will shoot any better than a factory barrel, but because I could get it in a full bull barrel. I would want the extra weight.  KN
