Chapuis double rifle

I found a Chapuis double rifle in 30-30 caliber for sale reciently. Killer wood and in like new condition.  Right now is not a good time for me to turn lose of that much money, but I sure am tempted. I could do almost all the hunting I'll get to do for the rest of my life with that caliber and do it in style with a great looking double.
Or I could buy a new 4 wheeler for running around the ranch when I retire..... Decisions, decisions?  What would you do?

  Is it the Chapuis in 30-30, that's on a small frame makeing a really compact DR?  The one i handled, sure was nice!
 
  BUT, I couldn't live without a good ATV, so it would trump a new DR for me!  Especially in retirement!

Yes DM, that's what i'm thinking too.  I have more rifles than I need but only 2 wheel street bikes. I will need a 4 wheeler... What would you recommend for a flat country 4 wheeler?

  Kubota 500 side by side. 
 
  It's just so much easier to get into and out of, compared to swinging your leg over an ATV. (that i also have) and when the mrs. goes along, she will love you for getting the S&S!

I like the Honda Foreman (3 lights) 4x4 version with the pull start option.  The one we have is a daily use vehicle and is 2001.

I have the RTV900 which is a diesel that is used here daily as well.  Still has the original battery.

No problems with either.

I am a late comer to the 30-30 having grown up in the ".308 generation " that looked on it as "old fashioned " and I now find myself growing much fonder of all things old fashioned. But the more I shoot the 30-30 the more I like it, especially here in the Northeast. A double rifle in 30-30 would be hard to turn down. And those Chapuis have a good reputation of value for money....

  Why punish the shoulder any more than necessary?  The venerable 30/30 can handle anything walking the in woods of the northeast....unless Sasquatch gets a .270 for himself.

I won't buy the double 30-30 but I sure want to.  Just too many other things I need right now.  I will admit restraint dosen't come easy when it comes to guns.... Guess I'll get by with the 3 30-30s I already have.
