Barrel trade in value?
« on: January 17, 2004, 08:51:59 AM »
I hope it is OK to ask this, if it is not just delete post please! I am thinking of getting out of the contender pistol game and into the carbine game, trading with Eds would be easy for me but before I call and possibly waste Eds time could someone give me a ball park figure. Two 10" barrels and one 12" all in excellnt shape. also all three have optics. I know at the local dealers 66 cents on the dollar is going rate. Thanks.

Why not post what you have in the classifieds?  Most barrels will bring $150 +/- $20.

Maine Woods -

Your question as posted is kind of like saying that you have a car for sale - it has 4 wheels and is red.   What's it worth?

IOW, "what" it is determines what it's worth.

10" barrels...  Bull?  Octagon? What caliber? Condition? What scope?

Ditto the 12".

With that additional info on each barrel, then I (we) could give you some kind of answer.

Ed provides the Contender world a great source of products and services, and at better price than anyone else I've found.

I'll do my bit to keep him in business.

I traded with Ed over the holidays.  I was on the phone with him for less than five minutes, he allowed me a reasonable amount on my stuff, and gave me a reasonable price on his.  I had my new barrel in 12 days, and there were two holidays in that time.

Does Ed trade on Encore pistol or carbine barrels? And how do I get ahold of him.
Thanks

Saw your ad.  Barrels are reasonably priced.  Your $20 shipping is way out of line (too high).  Figure $5 to ship a barrel.

Make that "very reasonable" if they are in good condition.   You should have little trouble selling them Maine Woods.

Your prices look good.  Assuming you are from Maine, I would try selling them in uncle henrys.  I just bought a 22-250 in there for $150.  Also there is always some guy in there tring to buy contender barrels.
