Light primer strikes
« on: January 31, 2012, 04:43:47 PM »
I was shooting a new to me stainless Contender (pre G2) with a factory 21" 7x30 Waters barrel. Probably 1 in 10 shots did not fire due to light primer strikes. What issue am I probably needing to resolve?
Thanks.
Matt

Sounds like a weak hammer spring. I'd try some winchester primers, if the problem remains order a new spring. Good luck

I had the same issue on my G2, replaced the hammer spring and no more FTF after hundreds of rounds.

Also, as I understand it if you have a hammer extension on it, that can cause light primer strikes as well.
