Yep, you sure can and you can even use 38 Super brass to shoot in your 9mm Largo but DO NOT load it to anything higher than 9mm Largo pressures. I bought one of those surplus Star B's a long time ago and got the calipers out and started measuring. The 38 Super brass fed well and shot fine but be mindful of the loads you use, since the guns chambered in the Largo aren't as strong as the 1911.

The starline 9mm largo brass is affordable while the rcbs dies in 9mm largo aren't so affordable.  I been thinking of using the starline largo brass with the Lee 38 super dies. The barrel in my llama-extra is very thick at the chamber and some guys say we can shoot the 38 super out of it but i'm not taking any chances with no spare parts around to be had its just not worth it anyway.

38 Super factory ammo would have taken my Star apart on the first round but the Super cases work really well in the Largo, if they're loaded to reasonable levels.

Crazy:  do not use 38 Super loads in a 9mm Largo but, you can use 38 Super brass for 9mm Largo loads.  You do not need a 9mm Largo set of loading dies, you can use either the 38 Super or even 9mm Luger (9x19) dies.  The largo is simply 4mm longer than the Luger (19mm) and running either through a set of either 9mm or 38 Suepr dies gets the brass sized well enough.  HTH.

When I first bought my Star , the shop also sold an extra power spring so I could shoot the 38 super. I fired exactly one round and decided it was a very bad idea. where the round is unsuported at the feed ramp the case was bulged out nearly 1/8". After that I pulled the bullits and reduced the powder charges. Shortly after that CCI started selling Largo ammo and I abandoned reloading till Starline came out with cases. the largo cases are much easier to reload for my fat fingers. DR

I noticed my llama extra is a tad sluggish when cycling.  I did install a full length guide rod using the orginal recoil spring that was in the llama.  Now i'm thinking the PO installed a stronger recoil spring so he could shoot 38 super.  I just ordered a 14lb & 15lb recoil springs and i have new 16lb springs already.  Then i can take it to the range and test fire it.  All my spanish 9mm pistols need to be test fired and tuned/tweeked if necessary.  I figured if i repaired my 1911's and got them up and running the spanish pistols shouldn't be no biggie.

I'm going to use the cheaper 38 super dies for the 9mm largo reloads.  They want so much for the 9mm largo dies its silly.  I found the 9mm largo brass new already.  I been buying up all the spanish 9mm largo ammo too.
