Black Powder Classifieds Forum?

I am going to run a poll to see if there is enough interest here to ask Graybeard to add a classifieds forum for selling and trading BP related items only.

Y'know, sometimes I think some categories are better off being combined.

Separating traditional and modern ML made sense because there was lots of discussion on both.

Why not just have a general classified section?  Those are usually so slow that no harm is done by lumping things together.

In fact there's benefit to combining things.  Several people may have an interest in both muzzle loading and Cowboy Action Shooting.  BP items could be sold on the same place.  

For instance, say I'm looking specifically for a CAS sixgun.  But someone else is looking for a muzzle loading pistol.  I may not find my sixgun, but I may stumble across someone else's "want to buy" add and consider selling my Lyman Plains Pistol.  

If the boards are separated, then I would never have looked in the Muzzle loader classifieds because I'm not looking for anything ML related.

BJJ - The CAS boys already have their own classifieds forum - and if there is enough interest here, so will the BP boys.   You can do exactly the same "stumble into" at any classifieds forum.    If you really want to get down to simplified, just make all ads (buy, sell, trade) on GBO in the one regular classifieds forum, and everybody can weed through all the ads they are not interested in trying to find one that they are.   I also don't see CAS and BP as related - two entirely different groups, so also don't agree their classifieds should be lumped together.    Just did the poll because I have been asked more than once what if... so we'll see what the interest is.   In the end, it will be up to GB as it should be.   Ladobe

The reason I voted for the "BP related only" classifieds,... is so I wouldn't have to "sift thru" a bunch'a other ads, while look'n for "things" thet relate to my favorite sport!!..... but,.... "only" if it ain't an "inconvienence" to Graybeard!!

I agree with Black Jaque. The site is "Graybeard OUTDOORS". Anything appearing in the classified section will have something to do with the outdoors therefore a "General Classified" would be more appealing to me.

This IS NOT going to happen.  As a matter of fact the Classifieds are becoming more trouble to me than they are worth. I am tossing around my options but at this time I think it highly likely I may just drop them all together. Either that or make them available ONLY to paying users which likely would have the same effect. They have given me more trouble over all than all the rest of the forums put together and I'm really getting tired of it.

OK guys, GB's done a 180 here.

This whole Classifieds issue has given me way too much trouble of late but we've worked it out and here is what's gonna happen. I'm going to have it split into three parts. One for TC stuff, one for Muzzle Loader stuff and one for all the rest.

I have the other two covered and Randy has agreed to help moderate the Muzzle Loader Classifieds. This will mean deleting ads marked sold by folks, deletng ads with no posts in 10 days and notifying me when you suspect a dealer is trying to sell for free without paying for the advertising.

So King will you help Randy Moderate this one?

:-D   Like........Have I  EVER refused anything.  Yuppers,you bet.  Soon as I get that big kitty outta my puter room and I dont have to worry about watching him and the screen at the same time.  I think it should be fun,like I have lotsa stuff to trade and swap,and general.  Its not like we  dont generate any additional items over the years of shooting or anything.  Stay safe..King
