If ya can't find a q tip big enough for what u want take a bamboo skewer used for grilling and a cotton ball. spin the skewer between your fingers while you let the threads catch from the cotton and you can make a q tip big enough for most things you'd want it for.
This will also make a decent dart for a blow gun to harvest small birds and such.
