Any Foxpro Spitfire users?

I've been using a JS PM4, but I've had a lot of trouble with it from day one. When it works, it works real good. It may work fine at the house, and get to the woods and nothing. >:(  So I'm ready for a change to say the least. The Spitfire would be within my budget. I would like to hear your feedback on the Spitfire good or bad before I make a purchase please.

From all my research on electronic game calls the FoxPro has the best feedbacks.
 
I got a FoxPro Firestorm for Christmas and love it. It has great sound and the staff at Foxpro was great on setting it up for me with call sounds. And a 3 day delivery.

I too had a PM4 and experience the same thigs you have.  Switched to a Spitfire and have really enjoyed it.  I have used it int he single digits without issue.  It has been the death of may coon, Crows, and a couple coyotes.

Swift One, how's the sound quality on your Spitfire, is it pretty clear an undistorted? I thought of using the speaker horn off my PM4 as an auxiliary speaker if needed. How was the battery life in those single digits? And if you don't mind me asking, what name brand and type batteries have you settled on using?

I own a spitfire and think it's the cats meow!!!   I have used it in single digit temps as well and have never had a problem.  If you are calling wide open praries an additional speaker wouldn't be a bad idea but I call pretty open sage brush country and it always seems loud enough.  I took a piece of all thread that I screw into the bottom of it to get the sound off the ground that seems to really help.  I just use regular old duracell or energizer batteries and they seem to last quite a while I can't say how long but I work two weeks on and two weeks off and on my off time I go out at least 10 of the 14 days I'm home and I can't remember the last time I changed them so they last a while.

Although I've only called in 1 coyote the spitfire works good,but I noticed 1 day last week that if it is down to 20 degrees I have to have the caller closer to the remote and even then switching sounds was alot slower compared to when it's above freezing. This was with new batteries just put in. When mine is cold I need to push buttons repeatedly before it response at about 75yds and in the open flat meadow,espeacially the volume. The unit is 1yr old and been out about 20 times. The sounds are really good though.

I owe one and use a auxiliary speaker the buggle style on mine i just leave my speaker on it all time, it will call them dogs in from a long ways away, i live in open country so it works well and you can turn it down to nothing, if your trying to call a cat in, i wouldnt trade my for anything else than maybe another higher doller foxpro   its a great call

The sound quality is quite good to me and I believe that for most circumstances, the volume is fine.  Some foxpro sounds are just quieter.  There have been windy days when calling crow that I wished I had a louder external speaker, but it still worked.  Most of my hunting is at night though and the sound travels better at night.  I use mine quite a bit and the batteries have lasted me a long time.  Go with the lithium batteries though or you will be replacing batteries alot.
