a 22-250 Axis followed me home today

Went to a little gun show in Sidney today and saw nothing worth a second look untill I was about out the door. I picked up an Axis with about 1 box of ammo through it. The trigger sucks bad, but looks like it`s going to be a real shooter. I didn`t shot any groups, but while zeroing it the shot moved about 1 in. for each 4 clicks and abt. 1/2 in. for the last 2 clicks, the shot that took the corner off a 1 in. square at 100 yrds., and it was the corner I was shooting at. The load was some 55 gr. Varmint Nite Mares that I had loaded up to max. I`m pretty sure I`l be able to get it to shoot in the 2`s, at least. Nice lite carry gun that will shoot,    what more can a man ask for.

Would a Basix trigger fit the Axis??

BBF, don`t know. I have several 110`s but have no had a stock off of the Axis and a 110 to compair and the people I have ask didn`t know eather.

Did you ever shoot a Stevens200?
 
I've had one and the trigger isn't great but can be somewhat adjusted. I can live with the Axis trigger if it is similar to the Stevens.

I have 2, though mine are the Edge............223 and 7-08....both shoot sub MOA. My gunsmith did my triggers, about 2 2/4 now, very nice riflles for the money. Was going to order a 270 Axis, but changed my mine and ordered the new Ruger American in 270. They have a trigger like Savages  and retail for around $345.................Gun Blasts tested one in 30-06 and 1" was the worse group with 3 different bullet weights..........

I have the Axis package on the way in .243 Win. The were on sale for a few cents below $250.

On my Axis the hole was threaded 10-24 so I used a cut off stove bolt instead of the pin. I also used a small flat washer to fix the side to side wobble in the trigger.Finished trigger pull is very nice,

Pm me for a walk thru on a 10 minute trigger job that will yield a #2 or lighter trigger, that is rock solid safe, you can slam the bolt and it wont go off. No need to buy anything, I have done 12 of these!
