Killer clips
« on: February 13, 2012, 08:45:16 AM »
I am going to buy a 22 caliber handgun in the next year but I would like to buy one that takes a hi-capacity clips.  So I would like to get one that takes these kind of large capacity clips.  I have seen guys on TV where they have 25 round clips for their handguns and was really pretty amazing what they could do with just a handgun shooting off a 25 round clip.  So, who makes a 22 handgun that takes these kinds of large clips?  Any other tips you can give on this subject of 22 handguns will be greatly appreciated.

A couple of things. Most semi auto pistols use a grip inserted magazine. The ways to increase capacity is to widen the grip and double stack (stagger) the cartridges in a widened magazine or lengthen it. The 22 rimfire, having a rimmed case is not conducive to double stacking (most if not all double stacked cartridges are rimmless or semi-rimmless) and a single stacked extended mag for 22 over about 10-12 capacity ususaly requires that it be curved to properly feed and as such will not fit into a grip magazine type gun. If you look at most 22 mags for rifles you will see that very few have a straight mag for over 8-10 rounds.
Just another worthless opinion!!

I have a Ceiner conversion for a 1911 and half a dozen 15rd magazines. You might want to consider something similar.

That's a .22 Magnum.  You'ld save money by getting a 9mm and start reloading.
