10 Precision Carbine
« on: December 29, 2011, 03:00:44 AM »
Looking for some input on this rifle.  I'll be honest, I've been a remington guy for years but I am now considering a model 10 Precision Carbine in 308. I have done some searching and read the reviews but i want some real opinions about this rifle. I am looking for a deer rifle capable of 300 yard shots.  I've been through the "magnum" phase of my life so please don't try to sell me on another caliber. Just looking for a well built rifle. Thanks in advance for any input.

I have one in .223 and like mine.  Its my first and only Savage.  I like the accutrigger, super crisp and easy to adjust.  The gun shot every kind of ammo I tried very well.

I did shoot a 500 yd. prone match last spring with a guy who had one in .308.  If I recall he had never shot in competition before and did pretty good.  I don't figure you'll have any trouble killing deer at 300.

Did you check out Remington's version of the tactical carbine?  I know when I priced them they were $400 or so more.  I hear that they are really nice too.
