We close next week on 50 acres with a stone house. There's coyote, hog and bobcat I know of. Oh yeah, we have a deer plain too! Anyway I went down and bought an ATN 390 Nightvision scope. So then I needed something to put it on. I tried it on my Marlin 336 but it rode too high and wasn't right. I was in Cheaper Than Dirt and I saw a Savage bolt action in 243. I held it and for $319 I was going to get it. As the guy is doing the paperwork I looked up and behind it on the rack was a H & R bull barrell 243. The moment it was in my hands I knew, $299 and it was mine. Went to sight it in and all I had to do was move the point of aim left six inches. Shooting Federal 100 grainers I was getting inch or so groups at 50 yards in the daylight. The ATN showed a six inch center circle and all I did was hold the reticle center mass. I'm sure it will shoot even better being able to see detail in the night
Tomorrow night I'll be a calling my first predators!! (I got the keys!!) I guarantee it will be the H & R I'm shooting!!
