hard to say from video. But if he was hurting the cop it would seem they were justified. Was he on drugs etc. ?

Good shoot.  Being derranged is not a justifying means to use lethal force (if that what you were implying powder).  The fact that he continued to be violent towards the officers (with what appears to be a pipe in his hands) after being tased is what authorized the lethal force.  They completely showed that they were trying to use the least amount of force to detain the situation- which in this case escalated to the use of lethal force.

SWIFT ONE. No, it wasn't what I meant. I meant that he sounded like he was out of his head, maybe drugged up, I didn't mean they could shoot him for hollering like he did. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

I believe it's meth that gives the bad guy almost super human strength when he overdoses.
in those cases, shoot to kill is the best option.

Anyway, Weapon+intent+deliverly system= a good shoot
 
No one wants to do it but sometimes it needs to be done.
 
My quess with the tazer, they didnt get a good enough hit, he was a big boy, you are trying to shock the central nervous system (in the spine) his size may have insulated the tazer from having its full effect.

The "perp" acted and sounded as if he was "high" on something... very likely "drugs".  He didn't comply with the officer's demands, he was making "animal-like" sounds and acting totally crazy.  He assaulted one officer (the female) and knocked her outta the fight, then got the other officer down and was in the midst of literally killing him (choke hold)... and the taser didn't work on him indicating he was really "HIGH" on something... and completely out of control.

I can't see that the officer had any choice... she had a duty to protect both the public and her partner as well as herself... and she did the ONLY thing left to her to do that would be "effective" in stopping what could become a deadly assault on another police officer... and that was to shoot the S.O.B.!!!

If ya don't want the FAME, then don't play the GAME! I.E., if you wanna be a BAD AZZ, then expect to be TREATED like a BAD AZZ... and he was. 

Scratch one B.A. !!!

tuff call.  In most cases the officers will be found not at fault. Not an easy call.

  Unless some mitigating evidence comes in, that should be all to it..shut the case down.
 
   Probably the perp was on something noxious..  Probably we should legalize all presently illegal drugs, so we can have a thousand more incidents like this..daily..

that anyone even questions it makes me scratch my head.     anyone that thinks they can handle that better, volunteer to go in and handle this situation next time.
