Main, Romney declared winner. Vote in major district delayed?
« on: February 12, 2012, 12:37:06 AM »
Vote in a major district of Main, Washington County, was delayed due to werther,  a 3-4 inch snow storm that "missed". It is predicted that the vote in that district will change the Romney victory to a Ron Paul victory.

Main Republicans might have to cancel the vote in that district to assure a Romney victory.

Taken from Bakersfield.com:
"The totals reflected about 84 percent of the state's precincts. Webster insisted that any caucus results that come in after Saturday wouldn't be counted no matter how close the vote."Some caucuses decided not to participate in this poll and will caucus after this announcement," Webster said. "Their results will not be factored in. The absent votes will not be factored into this announcement after the fact."

( state Republican Chairman Charlie Webster )
"Some caucuses decided not to participate in this poll and will caucus after this announcement," Webster said. "Their results will not be factored in. The absent votes will not be factored into this announcement after the fact."

"Caucuses in Washington County that had been scheduled for Saturday were postponed until Feb. 18 because of a major snowstorm that blanketed the region. Earlier, party Executive Director Michael Quatrano said county officials had been told the results of that caucus would not count toward the total."

can they do that?  don't seem right.  but then again, it could set a precedent for other places and sway elections.

No, there has to be a deadline on voting.  Period.  Maine has 24 Delegates, and this was a non-binding caucus anyway.  Their delegates can vote for whom ever they want to during the convention.  Really don't see any reason they bother with a caucus.

They delayed voting due to a snow storm that did not happen.  Too Bad, So Sad, you should have got out and voted if you wanted your vote to be recorded.

Everyone was so hyped up when Santorum won Minn, Colo, and Mo, why,  those three states are also Non-binding Caucus.  Does not mean anything, since the delegates are not bound by that vote.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
