Improving the trigger pull on a lever action???

Is there anything that can be done to improve the trigger pull on a Marlin 336 30/30. This was my first "deer" rifle. I mounted a scope on it and sighted it in with the intentions of hunting with it and hopefully to kill at least one deer a year with it for personal reasons. I haven't shot it much in over twelve years. I really didn't remember the trigger pull being as stiff as it is, maybe I've been spoiled by bolt guns. Also, does anyone make a stock with a longer pull? I remember the gun fitting when I was thirteen but now it feels a little short.

Frog:  I know what you mean about things not fitting any more. I can't use many things that fitted me when I was 13 either.  The easiest way to deal with a too short stock is just to add a recoil paid, either the slip on kind or a permanently installed one.

As for action jobs, go  to the lever action forum and look at the post entitled "Action Job For LSI Puma 45 LC.   A number of  lever action specialists are listed there.  I  haven't personallyl used any of them but Coyote Cap was recommended to me by another poster on this site and he was very pleased. I talked to Coyote Cap on the phone and am going to have him to a trigger  job on my lever action M-94.

Advocate was just right.. but the slip on pads should be removed after the hunt as they can affect the finish somewhat if left on for years.  The 336 trigger can be done quite nicely but requires a smith for safety reasons.. good luck from the gunnut69..
