Extra barrels available in Canada ?
« on: February 21, 2012, 02:05:46 PM »

 Hello,
New member here, great site folks.
I just picked up a H&R 35 Whelen from Cabelas in Edmonton Canada.
I was lucky to find it, anyhow I see there is a program offered for barrels from H&R,
but only offered to USA. Would anyone know how to get a barrel in Canada ?
 A 308 or 243 for SB2 is what I would want.

 Thanks.
 TBark

Welcome TBark, some other canadians will chime in I'm sure.  I believe they order barrels here in our classifieds though and then you fit them to your own frame.  Only a few send back to the factory for cost mainly.  There's a good FAQ located here: http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,26264.0.html  and I highly recommend going through it.  Lotta info.  Anyway, shipping a barrel w/o receiver is ok I believe, but some of your fellow countrymen will probably know better than I.  ;)

As required by the ITAR, rifle barrels require an export license to ship out of the US, so exporting a used rifle barrel isn't an option any more, non-combat shotgun barrels and muzzleloader barrels are Ok tho.
