XP-100 35 Remington Question

Mine is set up for shooting silhouettes. However, this is a good rig that should serve you well.  The Hornady 180 SSP bullet would be a good choice as well as the Speer 180 FP.  The later bullet is the one I use for my Marlin 336.  I use 2520 for my loads and this groups well at 100 yards.

I don't have a Xp 100 ,but I have a super 14 contender which works great on deer . I shoot handloaded Barnes 200 grain spitzers X bullets. These are loaded with 31 gr. of 4198 . They are nasty medicine for deer. I also have a buddy with the same rig you have ,and his gun shoots this load well also. Hope this helps !Good Luck

XP-100 35 Remington Question

I have one in the XP-100R.  It is very accurate, even with factory ammo.  You can improve on the factory loads by handloading if you do so. As MS hitman said, the 180gr SSP is a great bullet for accuracy and is intended for the velocity range.  I've had good luck with H335 in this cartridge.  According to Hornady, you can exceed their data by several grains if you feel the need when using the XP-100-don't do it with the contender.  I've found you can actually load it to match the rifle ballistics if you want to. The factory ammo is loaded to very mild pressure in deference to all the old guns that have been chambered for this round, some of them not being very robust designs.
