compact handgun lights?
« on: April 11, 2012, 10:06:52 AM »
Im really leaning towards buying a compact light for my glock 23. It will be used for home defense mainly. The only three lights I keep coming up with that are compact are as follows.

S&W micro 90

TLR-3

are any better than the others? Im left handed if that makes a difference.

I can attest to the quality of the Streamlight models.  You might also want to look at the new models by Crimson Trace - very compact, and with good reviews so far.  I Know their laser grips are well made.

I am not familiar with the weapon mounted ones. With the standard tactical models the cree led lights are gaining a lot of popularity. The output is getting over 200 lumens, with the burn time double the standard 90 lumen bulbs. The led won't burn out as quick as a normal bulb. Also the newer models will work with the 80213 rechargeable batteries. Instead of the cr2 that get expensive. I am assuming that the new technology would have made it to the mounted lights by now.
Just did a quick search for crre compact weapon light. http://www.google.com/search?q=cree+compact+weapon+light&num=50&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=shop&ei=xfuGT_jRLIas8AHl-IimCA&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=6&ved=0CCsQ_AUoBQ&biw=1280&bih=632
