Sporter stock will fit IF you sand it out.Easy to do with a proper sized dowel rod and sandpaper wrapped around it.Have done several.Hope this helps,Slow

This is an option you might want to consider if you decide to go with a heavy barrel. These are not straight taper barrels. They are a little lighter than the after market target barrels available and 20". They are a Ruger distributor exclusive for AcuSport. The AcuSport Light Varmint. The stocks are birch instead of walnut. The one on my 10/22-22 has been mistaken for walnut a couple of times though. If you are interested, click on the link to the Ruger page and scroll down to the three AcuSport models and click on the spec sheet link next to it. Click on AcuSport to go to their website.

If you decide to go with the sporter taper, Lipsey's is stocking one with the birch sporter stock and 22"bbl on the same page in stainless.

Hope this is helpful......Just a suggestion...........

OOPS!.....I should mention that they come with some extras too. Like sling swivels, extended mag release, scope base and nice rubber butt pad.

What Slow said IF you do not want to ever go back to the sporter weight barrel.   If so you'll want a second stock.   Doubt you will go back though once you've had a bull.
