That's the only way that there would be no receiver whatsoever left on that barrel and the threads would be undamaged.

Or the bolt lugs could have given up. Have the threads been checked ? the reciver bbl could be streached with out mesuring we would not know. I have seen pipe that recived enough pressure to streach both pipe and fitting that would not fit in a new fitting.
 My reason for asking is I had an XP-100 that was very worn and I was shooting loads over max by book standards. The bolt would rotate when fired and fly back hard enough to break the bolt stop. It never blew up as this one did. My next ? is on the Browning do the lugs recess in the bbl or reciver ? If reciver then It would look like the reciver gave up. If the bbl then it might be other problems. Just asking

Tpi_Demons, was wondering how things turned out, were you ever able to determine what caused the demise of your Browning?Faulty ammo?? Problem with firearm???

Maybe I'm just suspicious, but why does someone appear only to post about a horrendous event he was involved in, to a bunch of strangers, then disappear a couple of days later.   ???

I did not want to say this earlier in this thread but I have seen this before on a salt water reef/aquarium forum I was on. Were someone got bit or stung by some creature in there tank and got some mysterious disease that the Drs could not diagnose, or cure!! Just looking for attention. I did not like the looks of how the barrel and barrel threads were not damaged at all, base on how it was discribed with a stuck bullet in the barrel. IMHO

The OP did say the 12th- last round hit the target. He didn't say if it grouped with the first 11 or how far the target was.
