Local wrestler sues competitor for allegedly kicking him in the testicles  Local wrestler sues competitor for allegedly kicking him in the testicles gavel   by WHAS11 WHAS11.com Posted on February 27, 2012 at 1:47 PM
Updated today at 1:56 PM        (WHAS11) -- John Miller, known as J-Milz, filed suit Monday against fellow wrestler Clinton Woosley, known as Guido Andretti, for allegedly kicking Miller and causing one of his testicles to burst.
Miller, 23, was wrestling Woosley in Evansville, Ind. as part of the Coliseum Championship Wrestling Show last June. Miller claims Woosley went off script and violently kicked him between the legs.
“Professional wrestling is like a choreographed dance or physical theatre…In this case ‘Guido’ refused to accept the predetermined result and decided to deviate from the script and actually did something that is unacceptable in the industry, violently kicked John in his manhood,” said Larry Wilder, Miller’s attorney.
Wilder also stated that “John is a fine young man. He was a very good high school wrestler in Jeffersonville and he is well respected by all who know him.”
According to Wilder, Miller did not have health insurance and he owes over $20,000 for a surgery to remove his testicle.
Miller says he faces an uncertain future as a result of the injury.

I reckon it depends on who writes the script. I saw matches M A N Y years ago live at keil auditorium in St Louis that I darn sure thought looked real. Today it's all just actors following a  script. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Powderman.  I’m 70+ and as far back as I can remember wrestling has always been fake.  I have (had) two very close friends who were professional wrestlers, one was bared from wrestling many years ago for getting mad and hurting another wrestler, he has since passed away.  Both of these guys use to tell some wild tales about their experiences as wrestlers, one of them had a big Cadillac, several other wrestlers traveled to and from matches with him, They were best of friends until they got to the arena, and then they went into their act of being arch enemies.

One of the wrestlers is Don Slatton, he wrestled under the name of “The Lawman,” he was an ex cop and bail bondsman, the other was Ace Cannon, he is now deceased.  Don is near 80, his memory is gone but physically he is still in fairly good shape.

Watching these guys today, I think as old and shot as am, I could put a man down with shots like they throw.

Obviously there's an element of theater in anything where guys are portrayed as having their skulls pounded on by heavy man's kneecap. But that doesn't mean they can't get hurt for real. There's a lot of skill in pro wrestling, and a lot of it involves realism and dealing with two fast moving heavy men. There's a lot of physical conditioning and practice needed.

Really didn't follow pro wrestling much when I was growing up. Flying Freddie Curry,BoBo Brazille,The Shiek, and a few others. When my boys got to around 8-9, my wife who use to watch wrestling when she was younger, got them into watching it. Now I'm hooked on it. Is it a real sport, nah, but they are real althlete's. Got to be in pretty good shape to do all that jumping around, and gymnastics. Some of the falls they take are outright dangerous, like throwing a guy off a 20' high cage onto an 8' table to break his fall. My favorite is a guy called the Undertaker. He's getting to the end of his career, but has one of the best entrance's ever. You have to remember, they don't call it a sport, it's entertainment. gypsyman

People used to come to my Grandmothers house to watch raslin, not to watch the wrestlers but to watch her. She would be in the floor, jumping on the couch, kicking at the tv.
One time the Great bolo had johnny weaver (her favorite) down and killing him. She made a lunge for the tv, I guess to somehow help him out. As she went by Grandpa she kicked him, he kicked her back she kicked him, then we had a free for all.
If wrestling was anywhere close she would go. She didn't have a hard time going, people would glady take her to watch the action. She dashed a cup of ice & coke on the great bolo, she could not stand him. She was a firebrand.

ROCKBILLY. My best friend Tank died1 1/2 year ago. He wrestled out of Indianapolis for 3 years. He said that there were 2 types of wrestling, one of which was made for tv. He claimed that when he went in the ring that the only thing on his mind was to hurt the other guy and win. I gotta admit I still enjoy a show whenever it's on reg tv, even though I know it's fake. Some of them are not very polished performers but still somewhat entertaing. I used to really enjoy watching the hulkster. The potential for really bad injuries is great. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

Back in the late 50's early 60's my mother was a big fan of pro wrestling. She managed to get removed from the building because she went after Mike or Ben sharp with a red high heeled shoe.  ::) I can remember not sitting near her if wrestling was on or you could wind up in some kind of hold.

You guys are pups.  We used to watch Gordon Solie's Championship Wrestling from Florida every Saturday morning.  Nothing better for churning a kid's excitement at the possibilities of becoming the King of the Hill.  It was better TV than the "Reality" crap shows of today.

Yeah, it's scripted.  But you better be one tough athlete to withstand the week after week after week of high-jinks these colorful characters produce.  If the boys of JackAss can make $150M for pulling the junk stunts they do, imagine the Gravy Train in revenue from live entertainment and TV Sponsors of Wrestling!

Ask Andy Kaufman, "Inter-Gender Wrestler", Saturday Night Live Actor (1980's), and Hollyweed Idiot when his "wrestling career" meet Jerry Lawler, Professional Wrestler.  In the end, it wasn't acting.

Here is a little setup http://prowrestling.about.com/od/thebiggestrivalries/a/Lawlervkaufman.htm and a subsequent quote:

...fans [were] absolutely rabid in their hatred of Kaufman and for good reason. His very politically incorrect rants against women and Memphis were used to spur this feud
