Remington anniversary model 30-06

Anyone have or seen the Rem CDL 30-06 anniversary model.  Fluted stainless in walnut?  My buddy had one several years ago and it was absolutely beautiful.  He got an itch for the 280 aniversary and traded it off.
 
If I could have one more rifle....that 30-06 would be the one.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the caliber.  It will do everything and do it better than most everything.  Not a fan of commerative edition rifles.  Just give me plain vanilla.

I'm not a fan of commemerative rifles generally, but that .30-'06 anniversary CDL almost got me to part with some money.  I liked the looks of the rifle a lot and the .30-'06 is probably my all-time favorite centerfire rifle round.
 
As a side note, one of my least favorite rounds is the 7mm Remington Magnum.  But I am having a very hard time resisting the temptation to throw down for the 50th Anniversary 700 that only comes chambered to 7mm Magnum.  That is fitting, I suppose, since both the 700 and the 7mm Rem. Mag. hit the market in '62.  But if they had a change of heart and did a 50th Anniversary 700 in a .30-'06, resistance for me would be futile.

Nope but I'd expect it to be a twin cosmetically to my limited edition CDL-SF .280 Remington which is a CDL with the stainless fluted barrel. I'm really not that into walnut stocks these days so mine wears a really nice sythentic stock I bought a lot of years ago to use on my first mountain rifle to replace the walnut on it. Even tho the barrel contour is heavier on the new gun the fluting allows the stock to fit nicely.

I can't see any difference in accuracy tho whichever stock I have on it. I've not done a thing to it other than the stock swith and it is a factory Remington stock that used to be on a limited run synthetic stocked mountain rifles. I had one in .300 Winchester and another in .270 Win that I gave to my oldest son. This stock is far different than the usual run of the mill tupperware stocks. It is apparently a carbon fiber type or appears to be and is very stiff.

I've not worked with this gun a lot but it shoots Hornady Super Performance ammo and some of my handloads into less than an inch for three at 100 yards. It does seem a little picky on what it likes to shoot as some of the loads I've tried don' shoot well at all but those it likes it REALLY likes.

I have the 2006 100th anniversary 30-06 CDL with the stainless fluted barrel. I bought this gun new and have it in my gun case. I have never used it, as it is too pretty to mess up in the woods. I have many others so, I have just let it sit. Think of getting it out once in a while, but have not yet. I know I should be shooting it. I don't know what kind of collector value ti will have one day, but I doubt it will be that much. More than naything I just hate to take it out and mess it up.
 
It is the standard 700 CDL SF with the floor plate engraved with the 100th anniversary stuff. Beautiful gun, IMHO.
