Hows the accuracy of 64 plus gr. bullets, in a 22-250 with 1 in 14 twist ? I want to shoot the heaviest bullets I can, that will stabilize and give good accuracy.

All the reloading manuals pretty much say that with a 1 in 14 twist a 60 gr bullet is max. I loaded a few 63 gr bullet I had laying around and no matter the load they all key-holed. Gonna have to go to 1 in 9 to get anything larger than a 60 gr NP to stabilize.

Here's a chart that should help determine what is likely to work, but be aware bullet weight isn't the only determining factor, it's the bullet length that makes the difference, a shorter bullet of equal weight to a longer bullet may shoot well, good examples of bullets that are short for their weight are the 60gr Nosler Partition, 63gr Sierra #1370, 64gr Win PP and specially the 70gr Speer, read Midway's last review with the comment on 1:14" twist, although he doesn't mention chambering.

If you know the bullet length, you can use this calculator to determine it's potential, the formula is more accurate than the antiquated Greenhill formula that's been the traditional standard. FWIW, the Speer #13 lists the 70gr Semi-Spitzer in their 22-250 data, test rifle is a 14" twist Rem M700. The Lyman #48 lists the 63gr Sierra #1370 in their 22-250 data, test barrel is 1:14".
